Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie, NCS has issued an order stating that in view of detection of COVID-19 positive cases at St. Paul Training Institute, Phesama, the aforementioned institute has been declared as Containment Zone. There shall strictly be no entry or exit from the Containment Zone. This was necessitated to map the local transmission of the disease and prevent the contagion from spreading.

The Containment Zone was mapped and cordoned off and the public and all concerned have been advised to follow all safety precautions of wearing masks all the time, frequently washing hands and maintaining social/physical distances to ensure public and personal safety within the proximity of the Containment Zone.

The order further stated that failure to comply with the aforementioned guidelines will be penalised under Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, the Epidemic Disease Act, 1897 and relevant sections of IPC.
