As laid down in the SOP issued by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India dated 15/03/2020 and Home Department Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority letter NO.NSDMA-ER-COVID-19/302/2020, Dated 13 April, 2020, DC Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS has informed that the following points may be taken note by all concerned:
- The identified dead bodies will be handed over to the relatives for proper burial after taking all infection control measures by the concerned hospital.
- The unclaimed dead bodies will be taken over by the SDRF for proper disposal. However, in circumstances where the relatives are not in a position to take a COVII) Positive Dead body due to various constraints such as financial, logistics etc. the SDRF shall assist in disposing the dead body.
- In the case of needy or poor families who are not in a position to pay any incidental cost of disposing the dead bodies, the District Task Force shall bear the expense/cost for the same.
