The Department of School Education has stated that there is a moderate increase in dropout rate of students during the year 2020 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and in order to address the issue, the department has extended the timeline for admissions to all classes up to 13th August 2021 and is organising a Special Admission Drive from 5th July 2021 to 13th August 2021.

It has directed School Heads to contact Parents/Guardian of dropout students with the help of Teachers/NGOs/Student Bodies/Church Leaders and encourage admitting their children to appropriate classes and resuming of schooling.

The Department has requested the cooperation and support of Public Leaders/NGOs/Student Bodies/Church Leaders in creating awareness among Parents of dropout students in this regard and assist them to get their children admitted at the nearest Govt. Schools.
