Union Minister, Tourism, Culture & DoNER, Government of India G.Kishan Reddy unveiled the plaque and laid the foundation stone for "IN - Service Teachers Training cum Examination Centre With Residential Facilities" at Pherima, Medziphema on 25th September 2021.
While addressing the foundation programme, G.Krishnam Reddy said it was one of the important events of education department in the state level to have this training centre for teachers with residential facilities. He spoke on the importance of classroom children and teachers which rate countries future. He was glad that there is focus for ensuring teachers for crash program and upgrade teacher skills with all kinds of infrastructure. This training centre will be focus in training teachers so that various modes of learning can be imparted in all schools which is very important in this time of pandemic where there is no loss of learning. The residential facilities will also benefit both student and teacher, he said.
He also mentioned on Narendra Modi’s new education policy which include the inputs for education policy for every state in India which give priority and protects local culture, festivals, songs, in education. He requested Nagaland to pledge for 100% literacy, as Nagaland is one of the opportunity state which is rich in natural resources and can also create employment and fulfil the dream of Naga people.
The Minister also urged the village to give importance to education as without it no state or country will develop. He further called upon the district administration to fully utilise the flagship programme for each individual and self help groups. He promised to work for the North East people, co-operate in all the developmental activities and develop the North East region.
MLA and Advisor School Education, K.T Sukhalu IAS (Retd) in his short speech briefed on the concept of training centre, the changes in the education department and the need for upgrading of teachers in the state.
MLA and Advisor Sericulture, Excise and Minority Affairs Government of Nagaland Zhaleo Rio, IAS (Retd) thanked the centre for sanctioning the program and building the centre of excellence. He also submitted a representation by the village for approach road.
Minister, Planning and Co-ordination, Land Revenue, Neiba Kronu also in his short speech thanked the Union Minister for his concern for Naga people by accepting the proposal in building the training centre.
The program was chaired by Shanavas C, IAS Principal Director, School Education, who also delivered the welcome address. Vote of thanks was delivered by Kevileno Angami Special Secretary, Department of School Education and SCERT, Government of Nagaland.
Joint Secretary DoNER, Anuradha accompanied the Union Minister G.Kishan Reddy with other officials.
