Landslide triggered by incessant rainfall led to the damage of 14 shops, toilets and a playground gallery measuring a stretch of 170ft at Peren Town around 7:30 am on 21st October, 2021.
DPA (DDMA) Peren, Kedigong has informed that since there was no proper drainage system in the playground, the incessant rainfall resulted in water logging in the playground and subsequently led to the landslide.
Thereafter, Deputy Commissioner, Peren and Chairman DDMA, Sentiwapang Aier along with ADC Peren, K. Mhathung Tsanglao, District Disaster Management Officials and Dobashis inspected the spot and provided immediate relief package to the families affected by landslide.
