A welcome programme for the recruitment team of carnival cruise support services India Private limited was held on 28th February 2022 at Emporium Skill Training Institute, Dimapur. The carnival team is coming to Nagaland for the first time to conduct the first-ever "North East Cruise Job Fair" which is scheduled on the 1st and 2nd March 2022.

 

Deputy Commissioner and Chairman- District Skills Committee, Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS, speaking as the Chief Guest, thanked the Carnival Cruise team for choosing Emporium and providing an opportunity to the youths. He pointed out that there is no doubt of talent in North-East and Nagaland but one does not get a platform where talent meets the opportunity. Nagaland is still in the initial stage as compared to other parts of the country but it is catching up fast statistically speaking, he added.

He said that young people who have worked outside have always proved that they are second to none in whatever sector or field they have chosen. He urged the youth to move out of their comfort zone, have patience and perseverance and give time to learn and gain experience, then there will be a lot of choices. He further encouraged the youth to have confidence, believe in themselves, and make good use of the opportunity.

 

During a press interaction headed by Operations Manager, ETCPL, Anirban Mukherjee, and the team of Carnival Support Services India Pvt. LTD highlighted that CSSI has partnered with Emporium Skill Training Institute (ESTI) to organize the Cruise Career Fair in Dimapur. ESTI is an established organization that is guided under the framework of the Ministry of Skill Development & Nagaland Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Society. Through this collaboration, it aims to bring the world’s best cruise ship career opportunities for the youths of North-East Indian states.

They stated that CSSI is India's largest crewing agency providing highly skilled and trained personnel for cruise ship operations worldwide. Recruiting Indian personnel for eight of the nine Carnival Corporation cruise ship brands, i.e., Carnival Cruise Line, Costa Cruises, Cunard Line, Holland America Line, P&O Cruises, P&O Cruises Australia, Princess Cruises, and Seabourn. All recruitment is free and recruitment procedures are fair and transparent. It is duly licensed by the DG Shipping office in India to carry out recruiting and placement services in India.

 

The team also informed that the skills required are- experience in customer handling, specifically in the hospitality sector, minimum educational qualifications required are Secondary School Certificate pass (10th standard) with fluency in spoken English. Senior positions require a hotel school diploma or degree along with other specialist industry skills in line with the applied position.

 

Further, they informed that the selection process will consist of shortlisting, online self-assessments, and technical interviews followed by a personal interview and an English Language proficiency test. All selected candidates will undergo a General Company Induction. Additionally, those selected as chefs may undergo specialist culinary training at the Culinary Academy of India campus in Hyderabad. Security personnel may be asked to do additional safety courses. All training post-selection is free.

 

CSSI team has welcomed everyone on the North - East Cruise Job fair who wishes to make a career onboard. 

 

The programme was chaired by Allin Awomi; Invocation was pronounced by Asheli Yepthomi; welcome address by CEO, ETCPL, Temjenkala Aier; Folk song presentation by Emporium Students; Vote of thanks was delivered by District Employment Officer, Gideon Sumi. Followed by Ribbon cutting in a declaration of the North East Cruise job Fair open.
