Mohammed Ali Shihab A, IAS, the designated Electoral Roll Observer for Tuensang, Noklak, and Shamator, conducted a visit to Tuensang district on November 20 and 21, 2023, specifically focusing on the Photo Electoral Roll. On November 21, a meeting was convened at the Deputy Commissioner's conference hall in Tuensang, attended by key officials, political representatives, and stakeholders.

During the meeting, Shihab A briefed all political parties on the significance of various forms such as 6B, 6, 7, & 8 and emphasized the importance of linking Aadhar with the Electors Photo Identity Card (EPIC). He reiterated the necessity for timely submission of claims and objections, in accordance with the guidelines set by the Election Commission of India. Additionally, he urged the parties to ensure the removal of deceased and relocated voters from the Electoral Roll.

Shihab A encouraged political parties to appoint Booth Level Agents (BLAs) at every polling station. These agents play a crucial role in assisting and guiding eligible citizens through the application process for inclusion, modification, and transposition of entries in the Electoral Roll. He highlighted the four qualification dates-January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1.

During the meeting, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, DC & DEO Tuensang, called upon all attendees to cooperate for the successful conduct of the Special Summary Revision of the Electoral Roll in 2024.

The Electoral Roll Observer also visited two polling stations from each constituency under Tuensang district, covering the 51 Noksen Assembly Constituency, 52 Longkim & Chare Assembly Constituency, 53 Tuensang Sadar 1, and 54 Tuensang Sadar 2.
