Orientation and Sensitization programme on School Dropouts for Adolescent Girls was organized by the Department of Social Welfare in collaboration with the District Administration under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) at Village Council Hall, New Jalukie, Peren on 23rd March 2022.
Peheilusile, Case Worker Sakhi- One Stop Centre while leading the programme gave a brief introduction on the functioning of Sakhi-One Stop Centre, the various services available and how to avail them.
Asuni, Centre Administrator Sakhi- One Stop Centre facilitated on the session "Child's rights". She stated that children represents 1/3 of the world's population. She highlighted the various child rights-Right to survival, right to protection, right to participation, right in decision making and right to development. She also spoke on human trafficking.
Heiriateilei, Women Welfare Officer Mahila Shakti Kendra shared on the session "Dropouts of Adolescent Girls" where she stated that adolescent is a phase of life between childhood and adulthood from ages 10-19 years and it is a unique stage of human development and important time of laying the foundation of good health. She also stated that they experience rapid physical, mental and psychological growth.
Sanitary napkins and light refreshment were also distributed to all the participants.
