The inaugural programme of Padhna Likhna Abhiyan was conducted at DC's Conference hall, Kiphire on 21 April 2021.

Delivering the key note address, Director, School Education, Wonthungo Tsopoe said that the department has invited teachers to the program as they play an important role in transforming the society and can execute the program effectively. He also encouraged the Church, Village Councils and Village Education Committees to assist the teachers in educating children. He urged the teachers to be dedicated and sincere in their duties in order to give quality education to children and asked the teachers to update oneself. He added that many Government High Schools are facing problem due to shortage of headmasters which the department is trying to redress at the earliest.

SDO (C), Kiphire, James Khulu Tikhir in his short speech said that the purpose of the program is to achieve total literacy by 2030. He said that through collective effort the target can be achieved and teachers can play an important role for transforming society.

The programme was chaired by LDA DEO Office, Bovika A, welcome address was delivered by AEO, Wobenthung Lotha. Vote of thanks was delivered by Supervisor, SE, A. Rankhaba and the program was attended by three blocks, namely, Pungro, Longmatra and Khongsa.
