The monthly Peren District Planning and Development Board, at its meeting held on 18th July 2023 at DC's Conference Hall, Peren, agreed to approve the LADP Schemes, including common pool and iconic projects, in respect of 6 Tening A/C and 7 Peren A/C. The meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Dy. CM and Chairman DPDB Peren, T.R. Zeliang.
In the meeting, the board recommended the proposal for the stationing of a Fire Station at Peren Town; opening of Genesis School at Jalukie; upgradation of Police Outpost Heningkunglwa to Police Station, and the renovation of ADC Hq. at Peren Town. On the agenda of re-constitution of the Boundary Committee for the New District Hq. The board agreed to re-constitute a Committee with DC Peren as the Chairman. The meeting also deliberated on the agenda of the upgradation of Govt. High School Heningkunglwa to Hr. Secondary, the board has decided to entrust DEO Peren to prepare a detailed report and submit it at the next meeting. As entrusted, NSRLM and PHED gave a detailed presentation of their respective departmental activities through a PowerPoint presentation. For the next meeting, Tourism Department and DCPO have been entrusted to give their departmental presentation. Further, DC informed the members that the Governor of Nagaland will be visiting Peren District on 21st July, for which all the Heads of Offices are to make themselves available.
Dy. CM and Chairman DPDB Peren, T.R. Zeliang, in his concluding remark, advised the District Planning Officer to maintain a proper record of attendance record during DPDB meetings. He also asked the members to be regular as important issues about the district are discussed during the monthly DPDB meeting. Later, in a separate program held at the Conference Hall, DPDB Peren also organized a felicitation program to honor the Peren District Badminton Association Team as they emerged as the overall champion of the recently concluded Li-Ning 45th Inter District & State Open Badminton Championship 2023 held at Kohima. At the program, words of appreciation were delivered by Deputy Chief Minister, T.R. Zeliang.
