District Sports Council, Peren organized a felicitation programme for medal winners in the recently concluded 2nd Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games 2022 at DC's Conference Hall, Peren on 6th September 2022 with Advisor Water Resources, Namri Nchang as the Special Guest.

Namri, in his short address, lauded the medal winners for bringing laurels to the district. He said despite poor infrastructure in the district he was surprised to see so many sports enthusiasts coming up from Peren. He stressed the importance of good habits including diet to maintain athletic health.

Er. Asembe Mbungcha, Chef De Mission, DSC while giving a brief highlights of Olympic & Paralympic 2022 said during the Olympics, Peren District won 8 Gold, 5 Silver, and 13 Bronze and stood in 5th position in the medal tally. He also extended gratitude on behalf of the Council to all the well-wishers who have contributed generously both financially and in kind in support of the Peren District Sports Council.

The function was chaired by DC & Chairman DSC Peren, Vineet Kumar, while prayer for athletes was pronounced by JTLBC Children Coordinator, Ndazeung.
