District level world environment day under the theme 'Only One Earth', was observed at Peren Town with Deputy Commissioner, Peren, Sentiwapang Aier (NCS) as the guest of honour on 7th June 2022.

The program began with an invocation pronounced by Pastor of Ao Baptist Church, Peren, Takomar while Addl. Deputy commissioner, Keyirangding Hegui gave brief opening remarks and a welcome address. At the program E.E. Power, Peren, Er. Tsiam Ndang declared the Peren Town as an 'Incandescent Bulb free' and the signing of the declaration was done by various wards Chairman & CSOs of Peren Town.

The DC, in his brief speech, acknowledged and encouraged the gathering for making the program successful. He spoke on the importance and reality of climate change and sustainable development goals and production activities for the farmers.

A short speech was also delivered by DFO, Peren, Pastor Peren Town Baptist Church, and President Peren Town Ward Chairmen Union while Etopeule Nza presented a special number.

The programme activities include the planting of Fox-Tail Palm trees by persons above 75 years, distribution of T-shirts, and cleaning the town area by students.

The formal programme was chaired by EAC Peren, Er. Seyievilie Pfukri.
