Returning Officer, Biennial Election to the Council of States 2022, Khruohituonuo Rio in a press release stated that as there was only one candidate till the last date for filling up of Nomination Paper for the Biennial Election to the Council of States and the last date for Withdrawal of the Nomination Paper, no poll was conducted.

Therefore, S Phangnon Konyak has been declared duly elected unopposed to fill up the vacancy in the Rajya Sabha for the State of Nagaland.
