In an endeavor to localize the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the district level, the District Administration of Phek collaborated with the SDG Coordination Centre (SDGCC) of the Planning & Transformation Department to organize a consultation for formulating the SDG District Roadmaps of Phek. The event took place at the District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) Conference Hall in Phek on August 7, 2023.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Phek, Kumar Ramnikant IAS, highlighted the global significance of SDGs in addressing issues such as hunger, poor health, and climate change. He urged officers to actively participate in the consultation to achieve the 17 goals and 167 targets outlined in the Nagaland SDG Vision 2030. SDG Officer, Abilo Humtsoe, emphasized the comprehensive and inclusive nature of the roadmap, designed to reflect the district's aspirations.
The technical sessions featured presentations by M&E Officer Khriketou Sohou and SDG Officer Phybemo Lotha. The workshop was chaired by District Planning Officer Phek, Tesinle Kent.
