The Phek District Planning and Development Board meeting cum Felicitation programme in honour of the newly elected legislators of Phek district was held at the DPDB Hall Phek on 12th April 2023.

Deputy Commissioner & Vive Chairman DPDB Phek, Kumar Ramnikant, IAS, while welcoming the newly elected legislators, the HODS and members of the civil societies, said he looked forward for the guidance of the legislators for all progressive paths and as the DPDB is an apex body in the district where developments of the district are taken for the betterment and welfare of the district, he requested  the legislators and looked forward for their  presence in the DPDB meeting besides their busy work schedules.     

During the short speeches, MLA, Dr. Neisatuo Mero said all the five elected MLAs of the district have clubbed together and have a lot of understanding amongst themselves and therefore requested the officers of the district to work together for the benefit of the people and the district. He also said the area of his concern as an MLA are plantation of trees and prevention of deforestation, road connectivity and maintenance of road and bring development, sanitization of health centres with more manpower and to revive the government schools as the government school teachers are well qualified and to check and see the problems so as to improve the schools in the district.

MLA and leader of NPF Legislators Party, Nagaland, Kuzholuzo Nienu called upon the officers to have a positive mindset and to work for peace and development of the people of the state. He also called upon the legislators that they were elected for a greater interest of the people. He lauded all members in the house to have an attitude to approach leaders and also work together for the upliftment of the people, and to focus on good governance, give cooperation, and do justice without any politics and be a part of the solution so that the work done in the district will be memorable.

Advisor, Civil Administration Works Department and Taxes, Kudecho Khamo called upon the house to work as a team to serve the people so as to achieve their desired goal, he added that politicians and officers have different responsibilities but if they work together sincerely and honestly they can uplift the district. He also said all the departments have schemes for the people and if delivered it can achieved the desire of the people.

Advisor, New and renewable Energy and Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority, Z. Nyusietho Nyuthe called upon all to have an objective and give their best to the society and take life as a challenge. He also called upon the members to be honest and give justice to their work.

Minister, Power & Parliamentary Affairs and Chairman DPDB Phek, K.G. Kenye appreciated the officers for their efforts they have put in for the smooth conduct of last elections and also highlighted the yesteryears DPDB meetings experience he had encountered. He also lauded the house to support, give cooperation, work together so that the public grievances are met.

During the meeting the following agendas were discussed, up-gradation of Meluri Sub-Division to District, up-gradation of SDO (C) Chizami to ADC Hq, work plans  for the Phek District 50th Anniversary Celebration and up-gradation of Chetheba Town EAC Hq to SDO (C) Hq.

Departmental activities of Education Department was also highlighted by Assistant District Education Officer, Phek I. Vechisayi and success stories/experience was highlighted by CDPO Chozuba. The programme was chaired by EAC Phek, Er. Omegali.
