Additional Deputy Commissioner, Bhandari Tiameren Chang launched Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGAY) under Bhandari block on 30th April 2020 at Bhandari town. Speaking at the launch programme ADC said through this scheme free rice of five kg to each card holders would be given, the distribution would continue for 3 months. He also highlighted on the importance of wearing masks and safe distance.
He urged the people not to panic but to take precautions, to help each other and fight together. The beneficiaries also thanked the Government for providing with free rice. Under Bhandari block 47 villages and 16,300 beneficiaries.
