The PMKSY-WDC (Erstwhile IWMP) Batch - IV, V, &VI implemented by the Department of Land Resources under Longleng district culminated on 30th September 2021 with Deputy Commissioner Longleng, Shayung Phom as the special guest at EBRC hall, Longleng.
Addressing the gathering after handing over of the WDF, the Deputy Commissioner appealed to nurture the seeds of development in the right perspective for sustainable development of the rural economy in the region and congratulated the LRD department for successfully implementation of the project in the district.
Asserting that every schemes and projects have laid down the rules and guidelines for effective execution, Phom urged the farmers to change their old mindset and attitude and follow the guidelines of the department with responsibility because the success and failure of the project depends on the farmers after handing over of the WDF.
Citing examples of successful schemes in other places, he said proper execution of schemes will provide sustainable development in the long run with beautification of the environment. The DC also informed and shared the problem face by the people of the district due to failure of Aadhaar linking in the district and assured that new Aadhaar linking ID is under process and would redress the hardship of the people shortly.
DPO (LRD) Longleng, Kughalu Chishi presented the keynote address of the program and highlighted on the exit protocol of the project through a PowerPoint presentation. It was followed by short speeches on behalf of Watershed Committee were proposed by Henrik Phom WC Tangha village project-V, Hamchong WC Boranamshang village project-VI, Balei WC Shamshongching village project-VI and Imjong Phom WC Noksosang village project - VIII.
In their speeches, they lauded the Land Resources Department, Longleng headed by the DPO, Kughalu Chishi for the successful completion of the project for the benefit of the people.
The program was chaired by Imlikaba Phom WDT, while vote of thanks was delivered by Shaklen WDT.
