The Phom Baptist Christian Association (PBCA), Lempong, Longleng led by the Executive Secretary Tialemba Phom visited DC office, Longleng and conducted prayer meeting with the district administration, Police, government office and civil societies on 8th April 2020 at the office complex.

In the prayer meeting the Deputy Commissioner Longleng Shayung Phom highlighted the overall prevailing situation of the district to contain the spread of COVID-19. He also highlighted the cooperation and support extended by the government agencies, the PPC, PSC, Phomla Hoichem, Churches and financial assistance given by the societies and individuals in combating COVID-19. Asserting that COVID-19 is a pandemic he said administration, police and medical alone cannot contain the spread of the virus without the effort of the law abiding citizens and civil organization. He therefore, appealed to the civil societies and the citizens to continue to extend their cooperation and support to the district administration and the government agencies in the days to come.

The Executive Secretary PBCA Tialemba Phom lauded the responsibilities and consolidated effort of the district administration, the police & security personnel, government officials, NGOs and Civil Societies 24X7 under the command of the Deputy Commissioner to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the district. He advised that in this situation it's not a good time for us to criticize and point fingers at others but it's a time for us to unite and combat against the Coronavirus and added that the power of the unseen God will bring victory through the power of prayer and discipline of the people. He asserted that the people of Nagaland must be thankful to God because so far non of our people are infected by the COVID-19 that has killed thousands of lives worldwide. 

EAC Yachem, Pichano Kikon and EAC, Longleng Ihoilung Chuilo highlighted various activities carried out by the district task force on COVID-19, the district administration, police, VGs, medical department & other government agencies and the Civil societies. They also updated contribution and assistance of the individual and organization. The Vice President of Phom People's Council, Longdang Tenjem Phom also informed about the coordination and joint effort of the Government and civil societies. The PBCA also provided refreshment after the prayer program. The program concluded with a mass pray.

It may be mentioned that medical consignment for Longleng district arrived today.
