On 28th July 2023, Jawaharlal Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) Chare, Tuensang, organized a press conference under the chairmanship of Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, Deputy Commissioner of Tuensang, at the DC Conference Hall.
Parveen Kumar, Principal In-charge of JNV Tuensang, shared the remarkable achievements of the school in embracing the principles of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. He announced that JNV Tuensang has been chosen as one of the prestigious PM Shri Schools, exemplifying a model school based on the ideas and guidelines of NEP 2020.
Kumar highlighted that JNV Tuensang focuses on nurturing students in all dimensions of their being, including physical, emotional, and artistic development. The school prides itself on having a dedicated Physical Education Teacher and Trained Counselor. Moreover, teachers have the opportunity to pursue a Diploma in Career Guidance and Counseling (DCGC).
He said the concept of teaching in multilingualism and regional languages fosters cultural inclusivity and celebrates the rich diversity of the nation. JNV Tuensang also offers various skill development programs, including Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology, and Handicrafts Training for its students. The school is equipped with digital classrooms, Samsung smart classrooms, and a well-furnished Computer Lab. Additionally, the Vidyalaya provides opportunities for teachers to undergo overseas training and impart training to other teachers when needed.
However, Kumar also brought attention to some challenges faced by JNV Tuensang, including the lack of proper infrastructure, non-completion of staff quarters and classrooms from phases A and B (which were scheduled for completion in 2011), no proper postings of Principal for past 7 years, and a shortage of teaching and ministry staff. Despite these challenges, the school is determined to upgrade Class XI in the next academic year. Kumar proudly mentioned that JNV Tuensang has produced numerous officers and distinguished individuals who have significantly contributed to the fabric of Naga society.
