In view of the September month which is to be celebrated as ‘National Nutrition Month’ across India, ICDS Noklak Project under the Department of Social Welfare conducted a short programme on 7th September 2020 at CDPO Office, Noklak under the theme ‘Complementary Feeding’.

Speaking on the programme, Senior Supervisor P.Hemping of CDPO office Noklak said that, the proposed of celebrating the Rashtriya Poshan Maah is to take the message of nutrition to every nook and corner of the country. Poshan Abhiyaan is a multi-ministerial convergence mission with a vision to ensure attainment of malnutrition free India by 2022 which is a PM’s overarching scheme for Holistic nourishment, he added.

Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyaan aims to ensure holistic development and adequate nutrition for the children in the Age group 0-6 years, pregnant women and Lactating mothers and Adolescent girls. Malnutrition effect on all sections of the society both poor and the fluent families due to lack of awareness and its objectives are to achieve improvement in the nutritional status of the targeted groups. The month long campaign will be culminated on 30th September 2020, he added.

The programme was attended by Anganwadi workers of Noklak Project and from Civil Societies.
