PROGRAMME ON POSHAN MAAH HELD AT CHANGTONGYA

Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2020, a program on “Mother’s Meeting focus on Young Mothers” under Changtonya ICDS BLOCK and RD BLOCK held on 16th September 2020 at Changtongya Town Hall.  The program was jointly organized by the Social Welfare Department, H & FW Department and NRLM (RD).

The program was chaired by Imnatula AWW. Welcome and key note address was delivered by Moa Longkumer, CDPO Changtongya. Resource persons Dr. Imtimongba MO CHC Changtongya spoke on the topic – “COVID-19 and breastfeeding” where he reminded all the mothers and AWWS on the importance of breastfeeding exclusively for the first six months and the benefits of breastfeeding especially for the overall growth and development of a child. He further encouraged all to wear face mask, maintenance social distance and wash hand regularly as precautionary measure on covid-19.

Moanungsang BPM, NSRLM Changtongya RD Block spoke on the topic – “Development & Maintenance of Kitchen Garden”. He highlighted on the need to develop and maintain kitchen garden in every house hold and it’s benefit in providing nutritious food for the family. In order to sustain the kitchen garden, the participants were also encourage and motivated to maintain compost pit both individual and collectively.
