Minister PWD (Housing & Mechanical), Tongpang Ozukum inaugurated the PWD Rental Housing at Marepkong ward, Mokokchung on 2nd August 2022.

Speaking in the programme, Tongpang congratulated the contractor for the timely completion of the work. He also appreciated the EE PWD Mokokchung for their constant monitoring and supervision of the project for which the Minister said the achievement is another feather in the cap of the department. He also thanked the land owner for their free donation of land for this project and their far-sighted scope for development. He also expressed expectations of the same from other land owners around Mokokchung town for greater development. The Minister also called upon the department to have a comprehensive plan on how to manage this rental house properly.

The rental housing project is funded by HUDCO and the project aims to accommodate govt. officers and staff housing facilities on rental and also to generate departmental revenue.

The technical report was given by Er. Nungsang Jamir, Executive Engineer PWD (H) Mokokchung Division.

Earlier, the programme was conducted by Er. Taribilong SDO PWD (H) Mokokchung Sub-Division. Dedicatory prayer pronounced by S. Mar Pastor Marepkong Baptist Church, a short speech by Chief Engineer Housing Nagaland Er. Tiameren. Vote of thanks pronounced by Er. Limadangit Walling, EE (Design) Chief Engineer Office, Nagaland Kohima.

Persons attending the programme included Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung, Additional S.P Mokokchung, Chief Engineer PWD Housing, representatives from wards Mokokchung, Ao Senden, Marepkong ward councils, and government departments.
