Advisor for Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Women Resources Development, R. Khing, inaugurated the Community Thutho (Cattle) Project at Vegetable Village, Kidima on 29th November 2021.

Addressing at the occasion, Khing said that Thutho can survive both in hot and cold places and Government of India has approved the Thutho Project. Khing advised the villagers to not only farm for self-subsistence but also for commercial purpose and hoped it will be an exemplary project.

Advisor for Youth Resource and Sports, Er Zale Neikha also spoke on the occasion and appealed to the people to take care of the facilities.

Managing Director, NLDB, Neikeyielie Theünuo in the keynote address said that three sites with 200 cattle capacity, with 30 dung pits for manure purpose has been set up. Training Centre with cowboy quarters has also been constructed. The Managing Director lamented that COVID-19 pandemic has affected the normal progress of construction. Theünuo informed that Kidima village being Agriculture department declared vegetable village was chosen. Dr Theünuo congratulated Kidima for selling vegetable worth Rs three crores in a year. Community Thutho Project was the first kind in Nagaland state and urged the people to be a model village.

Chairman of Kidima Village Council Zakitol Thol, expressed the gratitude to the Department and government of Nagaland for choosing their village for the project.

Secretary for Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Khrupi Sothu, IAS chaired the programme. Dr Kuokehebi Gwirie, Project Co-ordinator of NLDB proposed vote of thanks.
