The 74th Republic Day celebration was observed at Meluri on 26th January 2023 at Meluri local ground.

ADC Meluri, Albert Ezung as the special guest unfurled the national flag and read the republic day speech. Five parade contingents namely, Village Guards of Meluri; Christian Mission Higher Secondary, Meluri; St. Xavier Higher Secondary School, Meluri; Government Higher Secondary School Meluri and VG pipe band of Meluri took part in the march past. ABSI, Johnny Chakhesang F/5th NAP Bn was the parade commander and second in command was HAV Pongthrong Konyak.

The ADC also inaugurated the exhibition stalls which were set by SDAO Meluri, NSRLM of Meluri, Pochury Hoho and Forest department.

Other highlights of the day included a special song by Vilo Kajiri & Thsünguji Nyusou. Folk dances were also presented by Khumiasu Village and Riehuope Village.

The programme was attended by all Head of Offices under Meluri Sub-division, government employees, students and general public of Meluri.
