73rd Republic Day was celebrated at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung, where the Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA), Sharingain Longkumer, delivered the Republic Day Speech.

Four contingents; DEF Mokokchung, 2nd NAP, Home Guards and Ex. Servicemen took part in the March Past with Asst. Commandant 2nd NAP, N. Mayang as Parade Commander and API, DEF Mokokchung, Tekatemjen as Parade 2 I/C.

Highlights of the programme included Martial Arts demonstration by Mokokchung District Martial Arts Association and cultural items by Gorkha Union, Mokokchung and Wadir Club, Ungma.

After the formal programme, NLA Speaker inaugurated the exhibition stalls of different departments and also the State Soil Testing Laboratory at District Soil and Conservation Office, Mokokchung.
