Chief Secretary Nagaland, J Alam IAS held a meeting to review the Action Plan on Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain 2023 at Chief Secretary's Conference Hall, Kohima with participating departments under JSA: CTR 2023 on 13th April 2022.

JSA: CTR-2023 was launched on 4th March 2023 in all the districts of the country, covering both rural and urban areas with the theme "Source Sustainability for Drinking Water" from 04.03.2023 to 30.11.2023.

As the development of existing water sources is imperative to ensuring potable and quality drinking water, JSA this year is focussing on strengthening the water sources.

During the discussion with the participating departments under JSA, the Chief Secretary said there are five water-stressed districts in Nagaland, namely Longleng, Kohima, Tuensang Zunheboto, and Kiphire. He said sustainable water sources and water conservation are in the interest of everybody in the state since water availability is becoming a major challenge for the state. He mentioned that not only the departments physically involved but the whole government and the people need to be actively involved in this important endeavor.
