Niuland District celebrated Right to Information week on 12th October 2022 at DC's Conference Hall Niuland under the theme "RTI- A tool for Transparent and Accountable Governance".

Deputy Commissioner Niuland, Sara S Jamir, in her short address, stated that since 2005 when the RTI came into force all the government offices and departments have maintained official records that have led to more transparency and accountability in the governance.

Sara said RTI is a good instrument, urged people not to misuse it, and should know how to seek the right information. 

Imlijugla Lemtur EAC, HQ presented a PowerPoint on RTI while T Lemlila Sangtam ADC HQ chaired the meeting.

Various public leaders, GBs, village Council members, and officers from the district attended the program.
