A two day State Level review meeting cum orientation on RMNCHA+N (Reproductive Maternal Newborn Child and Adolescent Health + Nutrition) was organised from the 25th June 2025 at the IDSP Hall, DoHFW under the chairmanship of Dr. Avile Zao, Mission Director, National Health Mission, Nagaland.
Addressing the DPOs - RCH/UIP (District Program Officers Reproductive Child Health Officers/Immunisation), DPMs (District Program Manager) and Block Program Managers present, Dr. Avile stated that, being the DPOs (District Program Officers) and DPMs there is a huge challenge in carrying forward the goals of NHM in the District and requested them to put more efforts in improving those health indicators which are lacking behind despite all their efforts. She mentioned that, this review meeting is a good opportunity to reflect on our performance of the previous years and plan for the coming months/ years.
Dr. Avile also commented that, due to their efforts, our State’s IMR (infant mortality rate) remains one of the lowest in the country which stand at 7 as per SRS 2022 and hope that, we improve on the remaining key indicators in the coming years.
Welcoming the district representatives, Dr. Khelito Zhimomi, State Program Officer, RMNCHA+N appealed to take this opportunity for cross learning between the Districts especially on the best practises.
Presentations were made on the district’s achievements and status. Discussions were held on the challenges, opportunities and way forward. They will also be oriented on the different key component of RMNCHA+N like that of management of high risk pregnancy, anaemia, SUMAN, Laqshya, Musqan, Maternal Perinatal Child Death Surveillance and Response (MPCDSR), Family Planning, key component under Child Health etc.
