Tseminyu District RTI week was observed with the theme "A tool for transparent and accountable governments" at the Deputy Commissioner's official chamber Tseminyu on 12th October 2022 with Extra Assistant Commissioner, Tseminyu, Tumben P.Tsanglao as resource person. He emphasized the public leaders, students, village councils/VDBs, and NGOs gathering that RTI is not only a right to get information but also to get the right information. The RTI informed the citizenry to promote transparency and accountability in government functioning. Resolutions of village councils & VDBs under section 20(1) of the RTI Act 2005, a penalty shall be imposed for obstructing a citizen from accessing information. He also stated that the application can be submitted on plain paper in English, Hindi, or local language address to the PIO/APIO, if the person is below the poverty line mention it and produced proof of documents like a ration card, ID card, etc as there is no application fee and information is free.
