The department of Soil and Water Conservation bade farewell to its outgoing Director, K. Zhekheto Awomi along with Tiamongba, Mechanic Gr. II, and Pungore, Peon on 28th February 2022. The program was held in the Conference Hall of the Directorate office.

The program commenced with invocation prayer by Lipokmar Yaden, Joint Director. Registrar, Neizokhono gave a reminiscence speech mentioning a brief history and profile of work carried out in various capacities by the outgoing Director. This was followed by a presentation of the Certificate of Appreciation to the outgoing Director and staff.

The retiring officer K. Zhekheto Awomi expressed gratitude and recalled the fond memories during his service. He highlighted that a government servant should perform his or her duties with the utmost sincerity irrespective of hierarchy and levels because at the end of the day one cannot function without the other. He encouraged the Department to march ahead giving their best efforts with sincerity.

This was followed by a short speech by the Secretary to the Govt. of Nagaland, K Libanthung Lotha, IAS, the Secretary commended the outgoing Director for the diligent and sincere work carried out by him and stressed that reaching the age of retirement and be able to attend one’s farewell function is one of the greatest blessings in life. He further wished the retiring Director and staff a happy retirement and extended his best wishes for their future endeavours.

Project Director, SK Hekshe lauded the outgoing Director for his glorious achievements during his tenure as Director and it was an example which he urged everyone to inculcate.

The Program was chaired by Joint Director, Denis Angami and a vote of thanks was proposed by Deputy Director, Z Amenba Ao.
