In consonance with the vision of National Education Policy, 2020, to involve volunteers under various programs and catalyze interaction between students and volunteers by extensive use of technology and community outreach, the Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education has launched Vidyanjali, a volunteer management program, which will benefit crores of students of Government schools across the country.
Government Schools shall register on the Vidyanjali portal (https://vidyanjali.education.gov.in/) and post a list of required service/activity or assets/material/equipment on the web portal/app depending upon the number of students and their requirements, physical infrastructure available, availability of human resources and other resources on the school.
A volunteer can participate in the program by registering on Vidyanjali portal and contributing to the identified list of services/activities and/or assets/material/equipment in schools of their choice. The broad categories of contribution cover services ranging from subject assistance, the teaching of art & crafts, yoga & sports, and vocational skills to mentoring of students for career counseling and sponsoring of events/camps at schools and further cover support for basic civil infrastructure, electrical infrastructure, digital infrastructure, equipment for extra-curricular activities & sports, teaching-learning materials/equipment maintenance, and repairs, etc.
Heads of all Government Schools have been informed to register on the Vidyanjali portal and make the best use of the Programme. Further, School Heads shall designate a suitable staff as School Vidyanjali Coordinator and submit his particulars (Name, Designation, Mobile Number, Email Address) through the DoSE Online School Monitoring Portal during the period 02 – 06 May 2022.
