The Sekrenyi Cum Mini Hornbill festival was celebrated at Bamboo Hall, Kisama with former Angami Public Organization (APO) president, Dr. Vilhusa Seleyi as the Guest Speaker on 25th February 2023.

On the occasion, Seleyi stated that Sekrenyi is the main festival of the Angamis and said that its celebration has been practiced since the times of our forefathers though the people of today's generation embraced different religions. It is sacred and through this festival, people are expected to forgive one another and sanctify themselves.

Sekrenyi has been losing its significance with time, yet it is still celebrated with pomp and gaiety in many Angami villages. It brings unity and better understanding to the peer groups and the whole village, as Sekrenyi is a time of merrymaking and renewing friendships.

The Vote of Thanks was proposed by APO Vice President, Zadeho Rikha while a special number was presented by Lidi Kro-u, Kohima village.

On the occasion, APO Golden Jubilee Souvenir was released by former APO President & Guest Speaker, Dr. Vilhusa Seleyi.
