On 6th Feb 2023 seven candidates, Two from 37th Tyui A/C, two from 38th Wokha A/C and three from 39th Sanis A/C filed their nomination before their respective Returning Officer.

Deputy C.M & Home Minister, Yanthungo Patton filed his nomination before the Returning Officer 37th Tyui A/C from BJP Party, Patton was accompanied by Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda and Ex-MLA Yankithung Yanthan while filing his nomination on 6th February 2023.

Yibemo Kikon from 37th Tyui A/C also filed his nomination from RJD party the same day. Renpothung Ezung filed his nomination from BJP Party under 38-Wokha A/C, he was accompanied by BJP National Spokesperson and In-charge Nagaland State, Nalin Kohli. Y. Mhonbemo Humtsoe also filed his nomination from NCP party under 38-Wokha A/C.

In 39th Sanis A/C, Mhathung Yanthan from NDPP, Dr. Rolland from NPF and Sulanthung H. Lotha from LJP filed their nomination before the Returning Officer Sanis on 6th Feb 2023.
