The first ever one-day free chess coaching camp was organised by Shamator District Chess Association under the theme,"Sharpening Minds, Rising Together". The camp aimed at developing chess skills, thinking and sportsmanship among participants. The coaching camp was held on 13th September 2025 at Government Middle School (GMS) A, Shamator.

Bodi Kapfo, SDO (Civil) and Kudazo Swuro, EAC Shamator urged the children to approach chess not merely as a pastime but as a discipline that parallels life's challenges, and also encouraged the children to have an aim of fostering memory and strategic thinking skills. Altogether 40 enthusiastic students participated in the event.

Five coaches/Trainers took the responsibility to teach how to play the board game. The coaches were Bodi Kapfo SDO Civil Shamator, Kudazo Swuro, Throngho L/Naik, Yanluba N.P and Viqheqhe N/P. Refreshment was provided by T Shitopong, Primary Teacher, GMS-A School and his colleagues.
