The Shamator Task Force for Covid-19 under Tuensang District held a consultative meeting on 25th August 2020, at Cultural Hall, along with the volunteers, resource centre incharge, media cell, medical team, NGOs and 11 wards chairmen.
The objective of the meeting was to acclimatize the frontliners and public with new agenda to fight against the pandemic.
Lankonsen Tsanglao ADC, chairman for TF Covid19 Shamator, spoke on the decision to dispense with a resource centre for time being, and the formation of new committee. Every ward will have a committee comprising of 5 members to supervise the home quarantine. Shamator has atleast 50 plus people under home quarantine at present. ADC also said that the past few months had been a daunting months looking after the returnees, and he thanked all frontliners for successfully rendering their services. The two quarantined centers may remain functional for any emergencies. A provision for truenat at Shamator CHC is also being initiated to the higher authority expecting for a positive response.
Kiuji, YTC member, while appreciating the administration and frontliners for their efforts against the covid19, said that fake rumours of Covid19 positive case in Shamator has been circulated and appealed to the public to refrain from such unauthorized fake rumours.
Yanhokiu, member of TF Covid19 Shamator appreciated the villagers for setting up village quarantined centres. He also thanked the resource centre, cook incharge, women groups, churches, volunteers, media cells, IPR department, drivers and all those who contributed financially towards the covid19 welfare.
EAC, Shamator, also spoke in the meeting to refrain from social stigmatisation and decriminalisation against the frontliners or patients but instead foster love and support.
Tsurito, YTC Member said that due to network problems students are availing public ground for proper network connectivity.
ADC informed that trial-based visitation of bank for customers will be done roster by September. He reiterated that the fight for Covid19 is still going on, and therefore appealed everyone to extend their support by wearing mask, maintain social distancing and stay home unless very it is necessary to go out.
