Commissioner of Police, Rothihu Tetseo, IPS, was the special guest at the opening ceremony of Nagaland Olympics & Paralympic Games Shooting Competition on 23rd August, 2022 at Shooting Range, Multidisciplinary Sports Complex, Dimapur, under the motto" Stronger together".

Speaking on the occasion, he said that Olympic came into being during the period of war to bring peace and unity. He stated that games bring unity and peace and symbolises the unity of athletes and sportspersons who gather from various corners of the State. He added that the goal of the sporting event is to build a better and peaceful world. He exhorted the participants that with opportunity an individual having the capacity and determination can surely excel. Sports should be given importance, he added. He further encouraged the participants to do their best and represent the State at the National and international level.

Tentative event for 24th-25th August will be 10m Rifle (Men &women), 10m pistol (Men & women), Mixed Team Rifle, Mixed Team pistol, 50m Rifle prone (Men), 50m Rifle prone (women). Matches will start at 9.30 am.

The programme was chaired by Secretary, NSSA, Shalo Khing. All together nine districts - Mon, Niuland, Zunheboto, Phek, Kohima, Dimapur, Chumoukedima, Wokha and Tseminyu are participating in the event.
