The five day training on smartphone film making for film makers and content creators of Nagaland, conducted by Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) Pune, at Information and Public Relations Directorate, concluded on 21st October 2022.
Freelance Content Specialist/ Cinematographer/ Photographer/ Producer, Prof. Ajmal Jami taught the trainees on understanding the creative eye behind the camera and how to develop the skill of storytelling using smartphones. Through hands on practical sessions, the training allowed the participants to make their own short films and introduced fundamental technology, theories and techniques and applications of film making through smartphones. He thanked the Department for making the training successful. He also said that smartphones are now extremely approachable and pocket friendly comparing to cameras and pace of development in smartphones is a wave that we need to ride it and express it
The training was conducted under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Government of India where 13 (thirteen) participants from different districts took part.
Joint Director, IPR Asangla Imsong expressed hope that the training would be a good platform for everyone present to use their skills in making beautiful films and congratulated all the participants who successfully completed the course. She also thanked Prof. Ajmal Jami and the FTII for taking the initiative in conducting the training.
The trainees stated that they learnt a lot from the hands on experiences under the guidance of the resource person and hope that it would help them in their future endeavours.
