Speaker, Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Sharingain Longkumer participated in a video conference on 21st April 2020 with the Speakers of all the State Legislatures in India. The Conference was hosted by the Speaker of Lok Sabha, Om Birla.

The focus of discussion during the Video Conference was the COVID-19 pandemic affecting the Country and the rest of the world. During his intervention, Speaker Longkumer shared with the other Speakers and the Speaker, Lok Sabha the various initiatives taken by the State under the leadership of the Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, for containing the spread of the virus within the State. In his concluding remarks, Speaker, Lok Sabha appreciated the efforts of the State in addressing the situation.
