A 14-day special Handloom Expo 'Spring' NERTPS, organised by Department of Industries and Commerce, Nagaland and funded by Office of the Development Commissioner for Handlooms, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, under Development Commissioner for Handlooms, was inaugurated by Additional Director, Department of Industries and Commerce, Nagaland, Vitsuthu Nyuthe at Urban Haat, Dimapur on 28th April 2021.

According to officials, the objective of the expo is to enable the weavers to showcase their products and to increase the handloom fabric production by ways of establishing market linkages, to encourage innovation in design and techniques for improvement in design capabilities, diversification of product lines and value addition, better access domestic and export markets so that weavers get continuous employment and improve their living standards.

Altogether, 30 stalls have been set up, following all SOPs issued by the Government of Nagaland to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
