In view of the forthcoming General Election to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly 2023, Special Observer for Nagaland, B.R. Balakrishnan, Special Expenditure Observer and Anil Kumar Sharna, Special Police Observer held a meeting with the General Observers, Expenditure Observers, Police Observer, DC & DEO and SP Mon for elections preparedness on 22nd February 2023 at DC Conference Hall.
Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma highlighted the profile of Mon District – as there are nine constituencies with 264 Polling Stations and 1.5 lakh voters. He also stated other arrangements like EVMs/VVPATs, and vehicles are in place.
Superintendent of Police Mon, T. Uniel Kichu Ao updated the status of the Security situation in Mon District. He said that so far there was one incident that took place in Tizit, meanwhile, the other constituencies in Mon are in a fairly normal situation.
The Special Observers reminded all the officials of their roles and responsibilities, and to be very attentive in carrying out all the processes in the election in a free and fair manner.
