A special vaccination drive for shopkeepers, helpers, drivers, coolies and their family members was organised by the Longleng Medical department in collaboration with District Task Force, Longleng on 24th June 2021 at Public Ground, Longleng.

Speaking at the launching programme, DC &Chairman DTF, M. Shayung Phom thanked the medical department for organising the program in the district and mentioned that it is a work of sincerity while congratulating the medical team. He encouraged the team to organize more of such programmes in the district. The DC also requested the Medical Department to compile the necessary information with regard to Covid-19 awareness and vaccination in bulletin or voice message and spread through social media for public under Longleng District for effectively and quick spread of information. Phom applauded the medical team for the good deeds they are carrying out in the district, giving assurance that the administration will always give helping hands to them whenever needed.

SP Longleng, Yanithung urged the public to do away with all myths and fear regarding Covid-19while adding that vaccination will stop the spread of the virus. He urged every citizen to encourage one another, especially the shopkeepers and drivers as they have daily contact with people, to get vaccinated and make it a safe place.

CMO, Longleng, Dr. Obangjungla stated that the program has been organized for the individuals who are yet to be vaccinated, especially the shopkeepers, helpers, drivers, coolies and their family members. She urged anyone who is yet to be vaccinated to avail the opportunity at the earliest.

During the programme, keynote address was given by DIO Longleng, Dr. S. Imnameren. President Chamber of Commerce Longleng and Driver Union also spoke at the programme.

A total of 327 persons were vaccinated.
