TUENSANG:

            Tuensang District, in harmony with the rest of the country, marked 'Rashtriya Ekta Diwas' on October 31, 2023, at the iconic Tuensang Clock Tower. The district organized a spirited "Run for Unity," which brought together participants from various segments of the community, including the District Administration, DEF Tuensang, and students from Government Thangjam Higher Secondary School, Tuensang.

 

The event served as a powerful tribute to the ideals of unity and diversity that Rashtriya Ekta Diwas embodies, highlighting the nation's strength in coming together as one. LONGLENG:

In observance of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, commemorating the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on October 31, 2023, the District Administration of Longleng organized a Unity Run at the District Headquarters in Longleng.

            The event was inaugurated by SP Longleng, Yanger Jamir, who administered the unity pledge and flagged off the run. The Unity Run commenced from Hukphang Junction and concluded at Lempong Junction, symbolizing the spirit of togetherness and unity.

            Dr. Samuel Akho Konyak, NCS, EAC Longleng, representing the District Administration of Longleng, extended his heartfelt gratitude to all the Heads of Departments (HoDs), staff, police personnel, students, and participants who contributed to the success of the program.

MOKOKCHUNG:

In celebration of the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the district administration in Mokokchung organized the "Run for Unity" on Thursday, marking the occasion as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas or National Unity Day on October 31, 2023.

A total of 60 NCC cadets from various schools and colleges, all affiliated with the 25 Naga Bn NCC, Mokokchung, participated in the run. The event also placed a strong focus on the "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao" initiative, a motto emphasized by the Prime Minister of India.

The Unity Pledge was administered by Chumlamo Humtsoe, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Mokokchung, who also flagged off the event from Police Point in Mokokchung.

            The NCC cadets displayed great enthusiasm and energy as they completed the run, culminating at the Public Ground in Mokokchung. Here, they further contributed to the community by participating in the "Swachh Bharat Abhiyan" initiative, engaging in the cleaning of the Public Ground.

            The coordination of this event was led by First Officer Temjen and Subedar Ajay Singh of the 25 Naga Bn NCC.

NOKLAK:

In alignment with the rest of the nation, the Noklak District Administration hosted a 'Run for Unity' event in Noklak town on October 31, 2023, in commemoration of National Unity Day at Noklak Town.

            During the brief program, Deputy Commissioner of Noklak, Arikumba, underscored the significance of October 31 as National Unity Day, a day dedicated to celebrating the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He then led the administration of the National Unity pledge, emphasizing the principles of unity and integration. Following the pledge, he flagged off the 'Run for Unity,' symbolizing the spirit of togetherness and harmony.

            Participants from various walks of life in Noklak gathered at the Public Ground to take part in the event. The run, which commenced from the Public Ground, concluded at the Police Point, serving as a testament to the collective resolve of Noklak's citizens to promote unity and cohesion.

 DIMAPUR:

In celebration of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, which commemorates the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the District Administration of Dimapur, in collaboration with the District Sports Officer, organized a spirited "Run for Unity" on October 31 at the Government Higher Secondary School, Nagarjan, Dimapur.

            Participants from various walks of life gathered to mark this occasion and pay homage to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a key figure in India's history.

KOHIMA:

Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, commemorating the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, was observed in Kohima on October 31, 2023. The day was dedicated to spreading the message of National Unity throughout the country.

To promote the spirit of national unity, the Department of Youth Resources and Sports, in coordination with the rest of the country, organized a "Run for Unity" event at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Kohima. This event aimed to involve people from all sections of society.

The program was chaired by Zhopovi Zecho, District Sports Officer Kohima, who played a pivotal role in organizing the event. The Unity Run was flagged off by SDO(C) Kohima, Nokpai Konyak. Approximately 200 men and women from diverse sections of society actively participated in the run, demonstrating their commitment to the cause of national unity.

Before the Unity Run began, all participants took the "Rashtriya Ekta Diwas" pledge, emphasizing their dedication to the principles of unity and integration.

TSEMINYU:

On October 31, 2023, the Nagaland Emergency Preparedness Exercise on Earthquake Disaster took place at the Conference Hall of the DC Office in Tseminyu. The event commenced with a welcome address from the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rohit Singh, IAS, who extended his greetings to all the attendees.

DC Rohit Singh clarified the objectives of the mock exercise and emphasized the importance of earthquake disaster management. He provided a brief on the exercise and highlighted the necessity of creating awareness in this regard.

Longasen Lotha, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Tseminyu, informed all department officers of their crucial role in the awareness campaign. The program was organized by the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority, under the Home Department of the Government of Nagaland, in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Authority under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

The highlight of the day was a visual presentation covering various aspects and items related to earthquake disaster management.
