Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio inaugurated the State Data Center (SDC) constructed under the National Hydrology Project on 17th February, 2021 at the Chief Engineer’s Office, Water Resources Department, Kohima.
Speaking on the occasion, Rio said that setting of State Data Center will have positive impact and mentioned that the main objective of the National Hydrology Project is to improve the extent, quality and accessibility of water resources information and to strengthen the capacity of water resources management institution all over the state. He further said that with the State Data Center in place, it will serve as a hub for real-time and long-term data management, and operational control system.He called on the officials of the Water Resources Department to take the lead in educating the people for proper management as Nagaland receives one of the highest rainfall in the country.
Advisor, Water Resources Department, Namri Nchang in his speech statedthat with the setting of State Data Center, the Department will be collecting and compiling all the manual data from all the center on daily basis and will exchange with other agencies under the National Hydrology Project and stakeholders.
