In view of the announcement of schedule of bye-election to fill casual vacancy in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly from 58- Shamator- Chessore (ST) Assembly Constituency, CEO Nagaland has informed that the State Level Appellate Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) has been constituted as under:

1.         Chairman                     :           V Shashank Shekhar, IAS

Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland.

2.         Member                       :           One Observer appointed by the ECI

3.         Member                       :           Z Tokishe Sema,

Director, Information & Public Relations

4.         Member                       :           K. Sonikumar Singh,

Assistant Director, PIB Kohima.

5.         Member                       :           Alice Yhoshu,

Journalist & President of Kohima Press Club.

6.         Member Secretary       :           Ruokuovituo Khezhie,

Jt. Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland.

 

The State Level Appellate MCMC shall perform two sets of functions:

1. Deciding appeal from both District and Addl. CEO Committees on Certification of advertisement as per the Commission order No.509/75/2004/JS-I Dated I5lh April 2004.
2. Examining all cases of Paid News on appeal against the decision of District MCMC or cases taken up suo motu, in which case it shall direct the concerned ROs to issue notices to the candidates.
