State Level monitoring Team on Covid-19 led by Commissioner & Secretary, Geology & Mining, K. Libanthung Lotha, IAS along with Joint Director, H&FW, Lhovizotuo Belho visited Longleng and held a review meeting with DTF Longleng on 23rd August 2021 at DC’s conference hall, Longleng.
Deputy Commissioner & Chairman DTF Longleng M. Shayung Phom, NCS chairing the meeting apprised the visiting officers of the current Covid-19 status in the district.
Addressing the meeting, K.Libanthung Lotha, appreciated the work of DTF, Longleng and encouraged the DTF to continue its battle against Covid-19. He emphasized on the importance of the role played by the NGOs of the district and also on the reinforcement and preparedness of the DTF for the looming covid-19 third wave. He stressed on the need for attaining 100% district vaccination and increase of Covid-19 testing.
Lhovizotuo Belho said that the purpose of the visit was to interact with the DTF and learn the grievances and suggestions related to Covid-19. He also stated that the State government is ready to help NGOs and DTF in extending supporting to the District in Covid-19 related activities.
DPO (RHC & UIP), Dr. S. Imnameren informed the house of the 100% vaccination status acquired by six villages, namely Amosen, Chingong, Mongkhong, Shamshangching, Tangha and Yongnyah and one Department, DEF Longleng. He also highlighted on the strategies applied by the Medical department in collaboration with the Churches such as vaccination drive in all villages on Sundays, encouraging various leaders to be the forerunner for covid-19 vaccine and testing drive. Others who spoke during the meeting included ADC Longleng, D. Robin; representative from Phomla Hoichem, H. Shamthai, Executive Secretary PBCA, Tialemba, and CMO Longleng, Dr. Obangjungla.
Earlier the monitoring team visited CHC Yachem and Yaongyimchen village and had an interaction with village task force. After the meeting, the monitoring team along with DTF visited Covid Hospital and Longleng district hospital and interacted with Medical officers led by MS & CMO and visited Namching Health and wellness Center.
