A state level tribal painting competition among Tribal Students was held on the occasion of Jan Jatiya Gaurav Divas 2023 at DUDA Conference hall, Kohima on 24th November 2023.

The program was organised by Tribal Research Institute (TRI) Nagaland under Tribal Affairs Department, funded by Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India. Joint Secretary Tribal Affairs, Hito Sema, NCS delivered the keynote address and also gave away the prizes to the winners.

Shilula T, Govt. Hr. Sec. School Thangjam Tuensang bagged the first position while Anguvika Kinimi from Canaan Hr. Sec. School, Mokokchung and Ruyivelu Phesao from Christian Mission Hr. Sec. School Diphupar, Chumoukedima won second and third position respectively. Altogether, 13 Schools from different districts took part in the competition. Temjen Aier Artist, Andy Sekhose Art Curator from Art & Culture and Neivotuo Kelyho, Art Executive from Art & Culture department were the judges of the competition. The participants also visited State museum and WWII cemetery, Kohima as sightseeing led by Dr.Meyisangla Joint Director, Tribal Affairs, Nagaland. 

Earlier, Pauloi gave a special appearance while Project Officer Imsumeren chaired the program.
