A State-level workshop on Urban Infra, Urban Transport, Roads & Logistics, Power and Industrial Infrastructure was held at the Directorate of Information Technology & Communication, Kohima on 4th November 2022. The objective of the workshop was to brainstorm, deliberate comprehensively and elicit the inputs of stakeholderswith a view to envision India@2047.

Chief Secretary, J Alam, IAS in his keynote address stated that the purpose of the workshop was to share ideas and initiatives by the participating departments which will be then be used by the State Government to present during the second National Conference of Chief Secretaries which is scheduled to be held in January 2023. He said that ideas and innovation being practiced in the State could become a model for the country. The Chief Secretary encouraged everyone to actively participate and contribute during the workshop. 

Development Commissioner, Nagaland, Amardeep Singh Bhatia, IAS highlighted on the action items to be performed by the Departments. Secretary, Works & Housing, Kesonyu Yhome, IAS in his welcome address stressed on the importance of basic civic amenities and reasonable livelihood opportunities. He also shared on the need for appropriate policy intervention and financial support to achieve various targets. He stated that quality Infrastructure is a critical driver of quality of life and ease of living for citizens specially those at the bottom of the pyramid and there is a need for higher investment in Infrastructure which can manifest in the form of increased employment opportunities, access to market and materials, improved quality of life and empowerment of vulnerable sections.

Presentations on innovative initiatives, roadmaps were presented by School Education, Health & Family Welfare, Power, Agriculture (IFAD), Rural Development (NSRLM), Urban Development, Social Welfare, Roads & Bridges, Women Resource Development, Industries & Commerce and Information Technology & Communication. 

The closing remark was presented by Secretary, Power, Mohammed Ali Shihab A, IAS.
