Speaking at the celebration of Sükrünye and Youth Festival held at the Local ground Phek Town on 15th January 2023, DC Phek Kumar Ramnikant IAS, as Sükrünye Guest, spoke on the significance of Sükrünye Festival- “purification”, for which he called upon the people to purify one’s heart so that celebration of the festival becomes meaningful. 

He acknowledged people's support for preserving traditional festivals and said, “Culture is our identity that makes us unique”, and called upon upcoming youths to sincerely preserve their traditional culture and also urged them to come forward with new ideas that make good for the community.

There was a Miss Sükrünye contest. Mesungo-u Lasushe won the competition, where Ukolu Hoshi and Ruth Hoshi were the 1st and 2nd Runners up respectively. 

Phek Town Women's Welfare Society presented a special song during the celebration. Invocation prayer and Sükrünye greetings were delivered by Chivo Medio Youth Director, CYE PTBC, and Neihite Akami Advisor PTYS. Comperes of the program were Kuvolu Khesoh and Votalu Luruo. Chikhove Keyho spoke the concluding words of the programme.
