The Mangkolemba Town Council with the assistance of the Dobashis of Mangkolemba went on a surprise checking on the ‘Total Ban on all single use plastic in Mangkolemba’ on 25th October 2021 and confiscated around 13 cartoons of 300 ml water bottle, five kg of polythene bags and an total fine amount of Rs. 10000/- (Rupees ten thousand) was imposed on the defaulters.
The Mangkolemba Town Council has once again appealed to the shopkeepers and public to avoid using  single use plastic bags with or without handles irrespective of thickness and size, plastic cutlery including plates, plastic cups, straws, stirrers and other decorative made of Styrofoam (thermocol), mineral water bottle of size less than 1Litre, polythene, nylon, poly-vinyl- chloride (PVC), poly propylene and poly styrene in order to maintain the cleanliness and avoid damage to environment in Mangkolemba Town.
