Swachhata Pakhwada was launched in Longleng at Public Ground, Longleng on 16th September 2023.

ADC & Administrator, LTC Longleng Team Captain, Longleng Swachhata, Alongdhimen Jamir, NCS in his keynote address said to understand, appreciate and embrace the essences of Swachhata League. He said that Indian Swachhata led by vibrant youth which commits towards building a garbage free cities. He informed that after the event is completed, every city and town will have to submit official entry detailing their activities supported by photos and videos and will be evaluated base on essential criteria. The scale of youth engagement through voluntary registration of MyGov app whereas each entry shall be examine based on innovative ness and its impact. Further, he said that the top ten teams across the country who truly stood out shall be declared as champions. He opined that the league is not just an event, but a movement, a promise and a vision for a cleaner brighter India and leading towards a garbage-free India.

SP Longleng, Yanger Jamir, in his address said that the purpose of observing this Swaachata Pakhwada is to carry forward the vision of keeping the environment clean and green in day-to-day lives rather than focusing on publicity. He emphasized on the need for putting into practice the dedication for creation of a livable environment and further inspired the citizens to adopt cleaner practice in their daily life. He called upon the people to keep the town clean and avert oneself from diseases.

During the event, choreography on the theme song was performed by the students of St. Joseph High School, Longleng and the administration of Swachhata Pakhwada Pledge was done by L. Chuna Phom, Brand Ambassador SBM(U) Longleng and President all ward Union.

The programme was chaired by EAC Hq. Longleng, Dr. Samuel Akho Konyak P, NCS was attended by a host of government departments, school children, traders union, wards and civil organizations.
